The Living Air Purifier is one of those brands you should be a little careful about. Why? Because the manufacturer, Alpine Technologies, is now defunct - mainly because of complaints by the Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department. You probably won't find any of these for sale new, but there are still used ones floating around out there. I would personally be wary of buying them, for several reasons.

First and foremost, the reason that the FTC was involved was that it complained about the representations Alpine was making about its products. They basically said that Alpine had been overstating the ability of the Living Air Purifier to remove pollutants indoors and to improve certain medical conditions. That's a pretty big strike, especially when there are newer, HEPA based air purifiers available. There are still a lot of people who swear by this product, but it is a bad sign for those of us who aren't technical experts when the government is suing the company making it. Second, it's a complete pain to own a product that is no longer being serviced by a manufacturer. An air purifier is particularly susceptible to this because you have to constantly buy new filters. Owning one that doesn't have any more being made can be next to useless. It's probably better to just go ahead and either buy a new one or skip the Living Air Purifier and get a different used brand.
