There are literally dozens of different Honeywell Air Purifier products - their brands run the gamut from lower quality, but cheap, air purifier models to extremely high quality brands. They will cost you anywhere from $30 to $1000, and there are a lot in between to take a look at. This page will take a look at two of the brands - the Honeywell Enviracaire 50250, a $150 or so brand, and the Honeywell QuietCare 17000, a $100 or so brand.

The Enviracaire 50250 is a medium-price range Honeywell air purifier that gets the job done. It has gotten generally good reviews. It gets the job done - it will reduce air pollutants pretty dramatically, especially pet danders. A couple of cons: the filter replacements can be expensive, which is a definite minus. There are two filters - a HEPA filter and a "pre-filter." Replacing the pre-filter often can cut down on your expenses (it reduces the load on the HEPA filter, which is the expensive one). It's also pretty loud, especially on high - but you can reduce this by running it on high during the day or when you're away from home and running it on low when you're sleeping. It also emits a rubber-odor for the first day or so, but this is intended and goes away.
The QuietCare 17000 is a Honeywell air purifier that runs on the cheaper side, so this can be good either to supplement a bigger air purifier or if you don't have serious problems and just want to get the big junk out of the air. It works pretty effectively at getting the dust out of the air, but a lot of people have complained about the noise. Honeywell has been improving it and reducing the noise factor, but it's still really loud. The filters are also, again, expensive - it can run $70 to replace the main one, and about $15 for the pre-filter.
