Can I get an air purifier that doesn't have a filter?

Technically, you're going to have to have some sort of filter in it or it wouldn't do anything. What some people want is one with a cleanable, re-usable filter instead of the $80 replacements that come with HEPA systems. You can easily get this - most of the cheaper models ($50 and below) have filters that you just clean out in a little warm dishwater every week or so. But you need to remember that this will not be as effective. If you don't have any big allergy problems, that's fine - if you just want the air to be a little less dusty then the cleanable filters are great. But they can't get fine particles, which means they aren't as good for getting rid of smells or a lot of other things.
