Do air purifiers help with cigarette smoke and smokers?
This is often much harder to get an effective air cleaner for - the simple fact is that smoke is the most difficult pollutant to filter out with air purifiers.
You'd be surprised by exactly how much gunk is released into the air from a single cigarette. It's enough to overwhelm most medium-range brands - they'll get some of it, but nowhere near the entirety. So if you're getting a moderately priced version, it will reduce the problems of the smell of smoke, but not eliminate it. You'll either need to get a heavy-duty brand or try something else in addition. Having the smoker open a window or go just outside can make a world of difference.
